The Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago’s Vision 2030 National Development Strategy (NDS) was intended to provide a broad socio-economic development framework for the year 2030, based on the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). However, the full incorporation of this vision into the national development plans and the extent to which it has driven future planning and sustainable diversification opportunities for the country has seen limited progress, with little success against 2030 targets.

ONE TT  intends to provide a bridge between key development targets as listed in “Our Vision” and the stakeholders who will benefit from the nation’s growth via a successful implementation – the public.

ONE TT  will develop strategic objectives and actions.  We will engage the expertise of technical specialists and experienced nationals, incorporating direct input from the general public to develop strategic action plans.

This will result in ‘Frameworks for Action’ across approximately forty (40) national sectors to guide world-class improvement to 2040. So far work has started across nine sectors, Click here to learn more about them.

The strategic development actions intend to aggressively pursue opportunities and improvements which will help to improve the country’s GDP, foreign exchange earnings, drive the value chains across many sectors and to focus on other relevant education opportunities, to open new value-adding employment opportunities for youth, and ultimately to focus on the parts of the population most at risk, thereby improving the quality of life for citizens of Trinidad and Tobago by 2040.

It is hoped that these actions will be used to demand systematic change from prospective leaders and raise the level of national debate so that critical developmental issues can be discussed and commitments made.   They will also pull stakeholders together to start the change!
