Who is ONE TT?

We are a diverse team of Trinidad and Tobago nationals, residents and others with strong ties to the country, based both in Trinidad and Tobago and across the world united by our love for the country.

When was ONE TT formed?

The team was formed in October 2020 and consists of around 100 persons from many professional and demographic backgrounds.

What is ONE TT’s main focus?

We are focused on the country’s development over the period 2021-2040 and we are creating plans to carry out this development

What drives ONE TT?

As persons who have benefited from the country’s economy and opportunities, ONE TT members want to help to create similar opportunities for others, especially our youth, many of whom are searching for better life quality and employment.

Who is on the team?

Our team covers a wide range of age groups, educational backgrounds and careers.  We strive to maintain economic, racial, geographical and cultural diversity. We are particularly interested in attracting young people since they are a large part of why we are doing this work – for their future.

Do you have any experts on the team?

We certainly do! There is also a Senior Advisory team made up of highly respected leaders and professionals in the country who have reached the top of their careers and who also wish to contribute to a non-partisan approach to national development.

Is this a new political group?

We are not, we are non-partisan, politically neutral and non-aligned.  If you are related to or have a close association with anyone in politics, you would not be allowed to join. This is not an effort to create a political entity.

 What is ONE TT’s stand on commenting on the government or opposition?

We will not ridicule, denigrate, attack, or embarrass any public official from any political party or Government office.

We have an established code of behaviours for our team members that will ensure we hold our members accountable for what they say, write, post on social media, or communicate in any other way, that may be potentially misaligned with the expectations and values of ONE TT.

 What are ONE TT’s main objectives?
  • To rebuild our self-sufficiency and provide opportunities for diversification
  • To fully utilize all our natural resources for income generation and employment including tourism, agriculture, entrepreneurship etc.
  • To help to make our education system more aligned with employment needs and opportunities.
  • To help to provide opportunities for disadvantaged youth and communities and thereby positively impact the root causes of youth involvement in criminal activities.
  • To build on existing systems that are good but not efficient or accessible to all.
  • To deal with long-standing issues of poor service standards
  • To decrease our tolerance for corruption at all levels.
  • To mentor young professionals to be future leaders.
How will ONE TT do it?

The team will develop strategic objectives and actions across approximately forty (40) national sectors. These will be developed by incorporating direct input from the public and other stakeholders, and then reviewed and critiqued by external experts and specialists.

These opportunities include self-sufficiency in food production; creation of new export markets and new export opportunities for agricultural exports; developing innovative tourism products in ecotourism, cuisine tourism and geological, historical and cultural tourism; improving our preventative health care systems and environmental protection.
